Indigenous Administrative Districts of BC
(Redirected from Indigenous Administrative District)
Indigenous Administrative Districts are second-tier government entities, alongside Regional Districts, beneath the Dominion government but above District Municipalities. Run by the tribal governments represented in the Council of Chiefs, they have more autonomy than the District Municipalities; although likewise more autonomous than other District Municipalities, Cymru Newydd is not an IAD, and is somewhat less autonomous than the Indigenous Districts. The territories of the IADs may not be entirely contiguous.
