Expo Line
The Expo Line is one of the six lines of the Greater Vancouver Metro operated by the BC Hydro Railway on behalf of the Greater Vancouver Transit Authority. The Airport Line is a branch of the Expo Line.
The section between Waterfront CPR and Vancouver City Centre is shared by trains of the Expo, Airport, and Central Lines; at peak hours, this means service at the three stops is every 90 seconds. Between Marine Drive-70th Avenus Station and Marpole Station the line is shared by Expo Line and the Fraser River Line, and Bridgeport Station is the starting point of the Airport Line; Airport Line trains travel between Waterfront-CPR and XVR Continental; Expo Line trains run between Waterfront-CPR and Dyke Road-Britannia Station in Steveston, Richmond, with trains alternating north of Bridgeport Station.
Expo Line[edit]
From Waterfront-CPR Station to Milepost 2.2 (between Granville Island-Mariner Way and Kitsilano-6th Avenue Stations) the line is underground, and from there to Marpole Station the line is at ground level. Heading south from Marpole, after diverging from the Fraser River Line the line rises to cross the Fraser River on a bridge that becomes an elevated guideway until Milepost 10.6, just south of Westminster Highway Station. The remainder of the line is again at ground level.

Airport Line[edit]
From Aylmer through the terminals of Grant McConachie International Airport, the line is a single-track, one-way loop. The entirety of the Airport Line runs on an elevated guideway.
