Sport

Baseball

The Coquitlam Pipers of the British Columbia Baseball League play at Town Centre Park; with a capacity of 8,012, this is the largest baseball-only stadium in the country.

Football

Coquitlam Town FC were one of the founding members of the BC Football League in 1929; they play at Percy Perry Stadium, which is owned by Coquitlam RFC and has a capacity of 11,482 spectators. Their stay in the League has not been continuous, having been relegated from Division Three, but since their return to the League for the 2006 season they have been a permanent presence, winning promotion to Division Two in 2017 season, and then winning the Division Two championship in the following season to earn their first appearance in Division One since their single-season stay in 1978. Unlike 1978, they successfully retained their Division One place in 2019 and have remained in the top flight since then. In addition to the Division Two title of 2018, Coquitlam Town won the Division Two championship in 1977, the Division Three title in 1997, and the Southwest Football Championship titles in 1948, 1950, 1995, and 2004 season. Their best performance in the BC FA Cup thus far came in 1969, when they reached the semi-finals, but lost to Regatta Club of Prince Rupert with a 1:2 aggregate score.

Rugby

Coquitlam RFC, presently competing in the BCRU Second Division, share Percy Perry Stadium with Coquitlam Town FC; they were the stadium's original tenants, giving rise to its common name, The Rugby Ground.
