Air Vice Marshal Sir Raymond Collishaw International Airport is an airport in Cassidy, Nanaimo, British Columbia.
History
Originally called Nanaimo–Cassidy Field International Airport, in 1999 it was given its current name in honour of Nanaimo-born First World War fighter ace Sir Raymond Collishaw, who later also served as second-in-command of the Royal BC Air Force, and from 1966 to 1972 as Minister of Defence under Prime Minister W. A. C. Bennett.
Description
The airport is served by Collishaw Station with trains of both the Nanaimo Metro and BC Rail stopping here. From the railway station there is an underground pedestrian tunnel to the airport terminal, equipped with moving walkways.
