Air North is a Canadian airline based in Whitehorse, Yukon operating scheduled passenger and cargo flights in British Columbia and northern and western Canada.

History

Air North was established in 1977.

Air North in British Columbia

Air North began scheduled services between Whitehorse and Vancouver in 1983. This was followed by a Whitehorse–Victoria service in 1989, and a Whitehorse–Kelowna operation in 1999. Since 2013, Air North operates a twice-weekly service between Yellowknife, Northwest Territories and Vancouver.

In 1996, Air North acquired two BC-made DHBC-5 Swan aircraft from Mount Cook Airline of New Zealand, converting them to quick-change "Combi" configuration to allow their use for passenger or cargo services; in 2012, two more were acquired from Canadian airline First Air. One was retired in 2015 and another sold to Wasaya Airways in 2016; the remaining two have been used exclusively in cargo service since 2016.
